Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Deen Companion mobile application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Deen Companion is a free, general-audience reference application providing Islamic content and tools, including the Quran, Hadith collections, Duas, the Names of Allah (Asma-ul-Husna), Islamic names, prayer times, Qibla direction, an Islamic (Hijri) calendar, and a Zakat calculator. The App does not require an account and stores your Favorites and Recent Activity locally on your own device.
The App does not require registration or a user account. Favorites and Recent Activity are stored locally on your device and are not backed up to any server we operate. If you uninstall the App, switch devices, or clear app storage, this locally saved data will be lost and cannot be recovered by us, since we never had a copy of it. The App's design, original code, graphics, and branding are owned by [YOUR DEVELOPER / COMPANY NAME] or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Quranic text, Hadith collections, Dua text, and similar religious reference content are, to the extent applicable, part of the shared Islamic scholarly heritage and/or licensed from third-party content providers; such content is not our proprietary work product. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial, devotional and educational purposes.
The App relies on third-party APIs (for example, for prayer time calculations and Quran/Hadith/Dua content) to function. We do not control these third-party services and cannot guarantee their continuous availability, accuracy, or uptime. If a third-party service is unavailable, related features of the App (e.g., fetching new content) may be temporarily degraded; previously cached content will generally remain available offline.
Quran recitation audio is streamed from third-party sources. Streaming audio uses your mobile data or Wi-Fi connection; standard data charges from your carrier may apply. We are not responsible for data charges incurred through your use of audio playback features.
Certain features (Prayer Times, Qibla Direction, prayer reminder notifications, background audio playback) require permissions such as location and notifications. These are requested from your device's operating system, and you may grant or deny them at any time in your device settings. Denying a permission may limit the related feature but will not prevent you from using the rest of the App.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of content. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content (religious, calculated, or otherwise) is completely accurate or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, [YOUR DEVELOPER / COMPANY NAME] shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App — including reliance on prayer times, Qibla direction, or any religious content provided through the App. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [YOUR DEVELOPER / COMPANY NAME] from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the App.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the App (in whole or in part) at our discretion, including if required by app store policies or applicable law.
